Lee Kum Kee’s Australian Ambassador Family Stays Strong with MasterChef’s Declan Cleary

Lee Kum Kee, Australia’s favourite Asian sauces and condiments brand, is thrilled to continue its ambassadorship with chef and MasterChef contestant Declan Cleary. Declan, who through his ambassadorship is helping Australians create authentic Asian flavours in their own homes, is also set to appear in the upcoming series MasterChef: Back to Win, featuring favourites from previous seasons.

Declan was the first to join the brand’s growing family of ambassadors in Australia, including fellow MasterChef Australia alumnus and 2024 finalist Mimi Wong, who have joined forces with Lee Kum Kee to make authentic Asian flavours more accessible in Australian homes. Known for his passion for seafood, Declan’s love for cooking began in his childhood. At home, he was surrounded by the warmth of his mother and grandmother’s cooking, where food was always at the heart of family life. These deep connections to food became a cornerstone of Declan’s upbringing and his journey into the culinary world. His love for food was further nurtured by his time working in hospitality.

Taking inspiration from travels and with a natural curiosity, the fusion of Asian flavours has always excited and influenced Declan. This exploration has shaped his unique cooking style on the culinary journey, which first gained attention on MasterChef.

As a brand ambassador, Declan often shares creative recipes featuring Lee Kum Kee products on his social media platforms, allowing food lovers to explore unique flavour combinations and incorporate Lee Kum Kee’s sauces into their own cooking.

Gary Hui, Lee Kum Kee’s Business Development Director – Oceania, APAC said,

“Declan always has a brilliant smile on his face and is a true fan of the brand, so it is a pleasure to work with him for a second year in a row to champion Asian food. We look forward to continuing our partnership and helping Aussies explore our products in new, yet heritage-inspired ways.”

Lee Kum Kee's Australian ambassador Declan Cleary said,

“I’m honoured to be playing a small part in helping Australians experience authentic Asian flavours from their own kitchens through my continued role as a Lee Kum Kee ambassador of the country. I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world and find inspiration in my cooking journey, and I’m hoping I can help others experience the rich, bold and authentic flavours of Asia through their own cooking.”
